On the evening of September 24, as night fell and the city lights began to twinkle, most people were hurrying home after work—yet the employees of the Jinghong Branch of Yexiangquan Drinking Water were returning to the office. Most of them are frontline staff who, in their unassuming roles, dedicate themselves to realizing dreams that are at once ordinary and extraordinary.

 

In accordance with Document No. 37, “Notice of Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. on Launching a Comprehensive Discussion on Employees’ Individual Career Planning,” issued by the Group on September 15, 2014, Guo Li, Manager of the Jinghong Branch of Yexiangquan Drinking Water, organized a discussion and exchange session on “Individual Career Planning” for 44 employees. As stipulated in the document, participants engaged in discussions around four key areas: setting career goals, conducting job analysis, performing self-assessment, and effectively carrying out their work based on their respective positions. Each employee actively shared their dreams, strengths, work experience, hobbies, and plans for the next five years regarding both personal life and professional development.

 

Water delivery worker Yuan Jieyong: “I’ll deliver water with even greater dedication and diligence. In five years, I hope to earn more money, buy a house, marry a wife, and enjoy a better life.” Sewer worker Luo Long, who is usually shy and reserved: “In five years, I want to become a driver.” Customer service representative Luo Ruijie: “I will continue to work hard as always. I hope to have opportunities for well-rounded learning so that I can acquire more knowledge.”

 

“To travel a thousand miles, one must first set one’s aspirations; where there is a dream, there must be action.” This discussion session enabled all participants to gain a deep understanding of the company’s people-oriented talent philosophy, which places great emphasis on the continuous development of employees. Attendees unanimously expressed their commitment to work even harder going forward, systematically summarize their professional experiences, address their weaknesses, leverage their strengths, enhance the quality and efficiency of their work, and achieve a win-win outcome that aligns individual interests with those of the company—ultimately realizing the harmonious alignment of personal aspirations with the enterprise’s vision.
