The job of a liquefied petroleum gas delivery worker may seem ordinary and unremarkable, but in reality it is exceedingly challenging to perform well. Without unwavering perseverance and exceptional patience, it is difficult to excel in this role. Moreover, there are no fixed rest periods; whenever a customer requests delivery, the gas must be safely delivered to their home—no matter the time of day or night, or whether it is windy or rainy outside.

 

 

Riding motorcycles and carrying three or four cylinders of liquefied petroleum gas, the delivery personnel begin their work at 8:00 a.m. every day and do not return home until 8:30 p.m., their steps heavy with exhaustion. At the main LPG distribution center of the Jinghong Branch of the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group, each delivery worker averages five to six deliveries per day, with peak days seeing as many as eleven or twelve trips. It is common for them to hoist 28-kilogram LPG cylinders up five or six flights of stairs in one go, followed by tasks such as cylinder replacement, leak testing, and repairs—this is their daily routine. For these delivery workers, ensuring both timeliness and safety is paramount. Some staff at the LPG distribution center have been on the job since the station was first established, steadfastly holding their ground for 21 years. Rain or shine, they never falter, guaranteeing that customers can use LPG safely.

 

 

The job of gas delivery personnel is extremely demanding, yet they consistently bear the burden quietly. When asked whether the work is tiring, they simply smile and say, “Not really—once you get used to it, it’s fine.” No matter how hard it gets, they never stop moving forward. Dear customers, on days when the rain pours down in torrents and a delivery is a little late, we hope you will be patient and understanding—these workers truly go above and beyond!
