On February 8, the 2015 Xishuangbanna Prefecture “Welcome the New Year” Long-Distance Running Race, hosted by the Xishuangbanna Prefecture Bureau of Culture, Sports, and Press and Publication and organized by the Jinghong City Bureau of Culture, Sports, Radio, Television, and Broadcasting, was held at the Dragon Boat Square in downtown Jinghong. The race covered a distance of 12 kilometers and was divided into men’s and women’s categories. Athletes who placed in the top 30 in each category were awarded prizes ranging from RMB 500 to RMB 5,000, and more than 370 local residents registered to take part.

 

 

 

On the day of the event, Wild Elephant Spring Water Company set up a water station at the venue to provide free drinking water to participating athletes and spectators.
