On the evening of April 30, the “Songs of the Working People”–themed May Day Workers’ Choral Competition was held at the Jinghong City Cinema and Theater. More than 500 workers from eight teams representing eight communities in Jinghong City gathered to celebrate their holiday in joyous harmony.

Each participating team performed two songs: one was “We Workers Have Great Strength,” and the other was a song of the team’s own choosing. On stage, the workers sang with fervor, expressing their love for the motherland and their yearning for a better life, thereby showcasing noble, uplifting, and positive sentiments. Their clear, resonant voices echoed throughout every corner of the auditorium, prompting enthusiastic applause from the audience from time to time.

According to reports, this workers’ choral competition is one of a series of events organized by the Jinghong City Federation of Trade Unions and hosted by the Yunjinghong Subdistrict Federation of Trade Unions to celebrate International Labor Day on May 1. The event aims to promote the development of a harmonious corporate culture, continuously meet the cultural and spiritual needs of employees, and carry out in-depth, contemporary, healthy, uplifting, and diverse cultural activities for workers. By leveraging the artistic form of choral singing, the event seeks to foster a positive, united, and progressive atmosphere conducive to harmonious development, elevate the cultural sophistication of employees, and inspire their enthusiasm for loving the Party, the country, their enterprises, and their jobs.
