Banna Petrochemical Group’s LPG Storage and Distribution Station Strengthens Safety Management Through “Five Implementations”
Liquefied petroleum gas is highly flammable and explosive. To address this, the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group rigorously implements the “Five Implementations” in its daily safety management to strengthen safety oversight and safeguard the lives and property of the public. First, ensure thorough daily management of machinery and equipment: further refine equipment management systems and assign clear responsibilities for equipment management; conduct regular maintenance and servicing to keep equipment operating properly; and enhance documentation and record-keeping for all equipment. Second, strengthen management of major hazard sources: further reinforce the warning system by installing conspicuous safety warning signs throughout station areas and at major hazard sites, and by uniformly posting on walls information such as entry guidelines, safety signs, fire safety signs, internal rules and regulations, and operating procedures; conduct timely inspections and tests of storage tanks and associated safety facilities; perform risk assessments to effectively control risks; and tighten on-site management of hazard sources. Third, implement emergency response plan drills: further refine emergency response plans, and carry out comprehensive publicity, training, and drills, followed by post-drill evaluation, analysis, and summarization. Fourth, intensify safety education and training for employees to enhance their awareness of safe production and their ability to respond effectively to emergencies. Fifth, strengthen the identification and remediation of safety hazards, ensuring that potential safety issues are nipped in the bud.
The Liquefied Petroleum Gas Storage and Distribution Station of the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group will integrate hazard identification and remediation with initiatives such as “Standardization of Work Safety” and “Work Safety Month.” In accordance with relevant regulations on the management of hazardous chemicals, the station will focus inspections and corrective actions on unsafe conditions of equipment, unsafe human behaviors, safety hazards arising during the operation of machinery and equipment, and non-compliance with regulatory requirements. The goal is to identify hazards promptly, implement effective corrective measures, and thereby ensure safe production as well as the safety of people’s property and personal safety.
