In accordance with the General Provisions for the Issuance of Production Licenses for Food Packaging, Containers, Utensils and Other Related Products, the Detailed Rules for the Examination and Approval of Such Production Licenses, and other relevant laws, regulations and related documents, on September 28 a six-member on-site expert verification team—comprising representatives from the Yunnan Provincial Institute of Product Quality Supervision and Inspection, the Testing Center of the Xishuangbanna Prefecture Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision, and the Jinghong City Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision—conducted a field inspection of the Guanping Water Plant of Xishuangbanna Wild Elephant Spring Drinking Water Co., Ltd. to verify the plant’s compliance with the requirements for the production of small-bottle packaged water under the Wild Elephant Spring brand, including packaging, container capacity, and associated tools and equipment.
The inspection team conducted on-site inspections of the enterprise’s production workshops, production procedures, production processes, production conditions, inspection methods, and production technologies. At the same time, they carried out a detailed review of quality records, the production license, the establishment of ledgers for the purchase and use of raw and auxiliary materials, the implementation of quality control over raw and auxiliary materials and components, and the effective operation of the incoming goods acceptance record system, and listened to briefings from the relevant persons in charge.
Following the verification, the inspection team concluded that Xishuangbanna Wild Elephant Spring Drinking Water Co., Ltd. meets all applicable requirements and approved the issuance of a production license for small-bottle packaged drinking water, including food-contact packaging, container sizes, and related equipment.
Conducting on-site inspections of drinking water production enterprises to verify their licenses for the manufacture of food-contact packaging, containers, and related tools is intended to enhance these license-holding manufacturers’ awareness of their primary responsibility for quality and safety, improve their ability to consistently maintain compliant production conditions and manage the production of safe, high-quality products, and strengthen the scientific rigor and effectiveness of on-site inspection activities.
