As soon as he stepped out of the VIP lounge at Xishuangbanna Gasa International Airport, he was immediately surrounded by flowers and applause from employees of the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group who had been waiting at the airport, with staff eagerly vying for photos with the distinguished model worker.

Liu Tianwei, a National Model Worker and Chairman of Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd., told reporters that this honor is not only his personal distinction but also the collective pride of all ethnic groups in Xishuangbanna Prefecture. He emphasized that the award was hard-earned and will serve as a new starting point, inspiring them to jointly build the Chinese Dream, write a new chapter for Xishuangbanna, and make even greater contributions to the region’s economic and social development.

Upon returning home for an exclusive interview with reporters, Liu Tianwei said excitedly: “To be honored alongside 2,967 national model workers and advanced individuals from across the country with this lofty recognition and commendation from the Party, the state, and the people is both a testament to my achievements and a source of great inspiration. I will devote myself to my work with even greater enthusiasm and strive to deliver outstanding results in return to the Party and the nation.”

 

As soon as the National Model Worker returned home, he immediately granted an exclusive interview to reporters and held a symposium with employees.

 

National Model Workers and Advanced Workers are recognized and commended every five years. This year’s joint commendation by the Party Central Committee and the State Council represents the highest honor bestowed upon China’s working class, marking the first time in 36 years—since 1979—that such a prestigious recognition has been conferred on this group. In Yunnan Province, a total of 69 individuals were recommended for selection as National Model Workers and Advanced Workers this year. Among them are frontline employees and professional technical personnel, as well as enterprise leaders, farmers, rural migrant workers, and government officials. Through their hard work and selfless dedication in their respective posts, they have made outstanding contributions to the province’s economic and social development, earning them well-deserved admiration and praise.
