“As the wife of a National Model Worker, the two words that resonate most deeply with me are ‘dedication.’ After my husband, Chairman Liu Tianwei, was honored as a 2015 National Model Worker and returned home on April 29, leaders from the prefecture and city levels visited both the company and our home to extend their care and condolences. During that time, my mother fell ill and was hospitalized in Kunming. I had originally planned to travel there to be by her side and fulfill my filial duty, but in order to support my husband and the company, I ended up rebooking two flights that I had already confirmed. It is precisely this spirit of understanding, tolerance, recognition, respect, and genuine care that has enabled my husband, Chairman Liu Tianwei, and me to remain steadfastly by each other’s side and move forward together over the past 24 years of marriage. As the wife of a National Model Worker, I am profoundly grateful to the great Party and our motherland, to this era of peaceful development, and to our Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group—a harmonious and cohesive team.” On May 9, at a symposium organized by Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group titled “Learning from National Model Worker and Group Chairman Liu Tianwei,” Zhang Yanhong, wife of National Model Worker Chairman Liu Tianwei and Vice Chairwoman of Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group, spoke with tears in her eyes, her voice filled with emotion.

At the symposium held that day, employees of Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. focused intently on the themes “What can we learn from model workers?” and “How should we go about learning from them?” They spoke candidly, drawing on their daily work experiences to share their insights and feelings. Chairman Liu Tianwei listened attentively to each employee’s remarks and frequently asked thoughtful follow-up questions about issues of particular concern. All participants expressed their commitment to integrating the spirit of model workers into their respective duties, continuously enhancing their capacity for learning, innovation, and execution, and thereby driving the steady and robust development of Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd.

 

Attentive listening and meticulous note-taking have always been the hallmark of Liu Tianwei, a national model worker.

Employee representatives actively offer suggestions and advice.

 

Wang Jinzheng, Chairman of the Trade Union, presided over the meeting and put forward specific requirements on how to embody the spirit of model workers. He urged all departments, branch offices, and subsidiaries to treat the study and practice of the spirit of model workers as a primary task for the present and the period ahead, ensuring that this work is carried out with diligence, rigor, and effectiveness. The trade union should regard the promotion of model-worker initiatives as a key measure for aligning its efforts with the central priorities and serving the overall interests of the organization. To this end, it should adopt a variety of approaches to further study and carry forward the spirit of model workers, proactively cultivate and recognize more outstanding role models, increase support for front-line employees, build a workforce of higher quality, and thereby propel all aspects of the Group’s work to new heights.
