Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the People’s Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, delivered an important speech at the conference.

 

The awards ceremony was solemn and dignified.

 

　　 Li Keqiang presided over the conference, which was attended by Zhang Dejiang, Yu Zhengsheng, Wang Qishan, and Zhang Gaoli. Liu Yunshan then read out the decision on commending outstanding individuals and units.

　　 The Party Central Committee and the State Council conferred the title of National Model Worker on 2,064 individuals and the title of National Advanced Worker on 904 individuals.

 

The Yunnan delegation, led by Liu Tianwei, traveled to Beijing to attend the awards ceremony.

 

Comrade Liu Tianwei, Chairman of Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd., was selected through multiple rounds of nomination and, following joint review and approval by numerous departments—including the Xishuangbanna Prefecture Safety Supervision, Environmental Protection, Discipline Inspection, Supervision, Audit, Taxation, and Family Planning authorities—was honored as a representative of Yunnan Province’s entrepreneurs and awarded this nation’s highest honor for workers.

 

Comrade Liu Tianwei was awarded the nation’s highest honor, the “National Model Worker” title, by the Party, the state, and the people at the Great Hall of the People.

 

Comrade Liu Tianwei was born in June 1963 in Mojiang County, Yunnan Province. He is of the Hani ethnic group and a member of the China Association for Promoting Democracy. He currently serves as Chairman of Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. He has previously held positions as a member of the Ninth Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference in Yunnan Province, as well as a member and Standing Committee member of the Ninth and Tenth Committees of the Xishuangbanna Prefectural CPPCC. In 1999, he was awarded the title of Outstanding Factory Director (Manager) of Non-State-Owned Enterprises in Yunnan Province at the Third Session; in 2003, he was recognized as an Advanced Individual in Ethnic Unity and Progress for the Third Time by the Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture; in 2004, he was named an Advanced Individual in the Guangcai Program of Yunnan Province; in 2005, he received the title of Outstanding Builder of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in Yunnan Province; in 2008, he was conferred the title of Model Worker of the Nineteenth Session of the Yunnan Provincial Labor Congress, among other honors; and in 2015, he was awarded the national title of Model Worker.
