“A triumphant song bids farewell to the old year, as the silver sheep heralds the New Year.” On the cusp of year-end and year-beginning, in order to comprehensively summarize and review the achievements and lessons learned in our work, and to carefully plan and deploy the tasks for 2015, Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. solemnly convened the 2014 Annual Work Summary and Model Employee Commendation Conference on the morning of December 20, 2014, in the large conference room on the second floor of the Group’s headquarters.

 

This conference is of paramount importance, as it is being held at a critical juncture in the Banna Petrochemical Group’s journey toward scientific, harmonious, and leapfrog development—guided by the policy of “transforming the development model, adjusting the industrial structure, ensuring stable growth, and enhancing efficiency.” Attending the conference were leading officials of the Group, including Liu Tianwei, Chairman of the Banna Petrochemical Group; Zhang Yanhong, Vice Chairwoman and Secretary of the Party Branch; Liu Lin, Deputy General Manager of the Group and Deputy General Manager of Yunnan Yuntou Banna Petrochemical Co., Ltd.; and Lin Gang, Deputy General Manager of the Group and General Manager of Jinghong City Urban Investment Pipeline Gas Co., Ltd., among others.

The meeting was chaired by Wang Jinzheng, Chairman of the Group Company’s Trade Union and Director of the Office. The session began with the presentation of the 2014 work reports by representatives from the Group Company’s Office, Finance Department, Liquefied Gas Division, New Energy Division, Drinking Water Division, and Refined Oil Division.

According to the conference agenda, Liu Tianwei, Chairman of the Group Company, signed the 2015 Safety Production Responsibility Agreements and the 2015 Performance Assessment Responsibility Agreements for Production and Operation Targets with the heads of the Liquefied Gas, New Energy, Refined Oil, Drinking Water, and Safe Storage and Transportation Departments, respectively.

Immediately afterward, Zhang Yanhong, Vice Chairperson of the Group Company and Secretary of the Party Branch, read out the “Decision of Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. on Commending the Group’s 2014 Harmonious Teams and Outstanding Individuals.” To recognize excellence and boost morale, the Group allocated more than RMB 200,000 in special reward funds to publicly commend and reward two “Harmonious Teams” and 37 “Outstanding Employees” who have demonstrated unwavering dedication and outstanding performance in their work. The Group also called on all employees to take the honored collectives and individuals as role models, to emulate their spirit of loyalty, tireless hard work, professional commitment, and deep affection for their jobs, to stay focused on their respective posts, perform their duties diligently, and contribute to the company’s continued growth and development. Following this, the Group’s leaders presented awards to the winning collectives and individuals in turn.

Amid warm applause from the audience, Liu Tianwei, Chairman of the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group, delivered the 2014 Annual Work Summary Report, entitled “Understand the Situation, Mobilize Our Energy, and Strive for the Top—Working Hard to Realize the Dreams of Our Employees, Our Enterprise, and the Chinese Dream.” In his report, Chairman Liu pointed out that over the past year, under the strong leadership of the competent authorities at higher levels and the united guidance of the Group’s leadership team, all departments closely focused on the work tasks and goals set at the beginning of the year. Through concerted efforts and a pragmatic, results-oriented approach, the Group’s employees rose to challenges, pressed ahead with determination, overcame difficulties, and ensured the orderly advancement of all undertakings, thereby achieving the anticipated objectives. The Group’s investment in the Yexiangquan drinking water and piped natural gas projects has further expanded their market reach and continuously improved product quality; the liquefied petroleum gas and refined oil businesses have broadened their sales markets and increasingly standardized their operations and management; the 1,500-mu Simao pine plantation developed by Weihong Forestry Co., Ltd., in which the Group has invested, has been fully harvested, and more than 5,000 mu of rare forest trees have been planted, with over 500 mu of Hainan yellow pearwood already planted and inspected in accordance with the established targets; the Wangfu Plaza real estate project, also funded by the Group, is progressing steadily, with all preliminary procedures now completed, and a grand opening ceremony scheduled for December 28. Meanwhile, the Group’s other equity-participated and controlling companies have likewise successfully fulfilled all annual tasks according to the set targets. Overall, the Group’s production situation remains stable, its organizational and management structure has been further refined, its workforce continues to grow, and all its endeavors are enjoying robust and vigorous development.

Subsequently, the Chairman briefly summarized the key achievements of the past year, focusing on prioritizing production and operations as the central task, strengthening comprehensive management to elevate and safeguard all aspects of the company’s work, adhering to a people-oriented development philosophy and vigorously advancing corporate culture building, bolstering talent development to drive technological innovation and growth, intensifying publicity efforts to enhance the company’s brand recognition, and implementing a “going global” development strategy.

Chairman Liu Tianwei pointed out that, following 21 years of arduous effort and relentless pursuit, the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group has now grown into a corporate group with eight subsidiaries and seven branch offices, steadily expanding its asset base and workforce while continuously strengthening its financial strength and delivering outstanding economic and social benefits. Notably, the establishment of Yunnan Yuntou Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Co., Ltd., jointly founded by the Group and Yuntou Group, and Jinghong City Investment Pipeline Gas Co., Ltd., established in partnership with Jinghong City Investment Group, have marked significant milestones. The formal launch of these new companies and the commencement of their operations have successfully facilitated the Group’s strategic transformation and industrial upgrading.

Chairman Liu Tianwei emphasized that the overarching guiding principle for Banna Petrochemical Group’s work in 2015 is to adopt a holistic, group-wide perspective, proactively seize opportunities while mitigating risks, concentrate on ensuring safe production and sound operations, consolidate the Group’s foundational industrial position, and thereby usher in a new phase of development. In 2015, Banna Petrochemical Group’s strategic objectives and key tasks are as follows: focus on one central goal and accomplish six major tasks. Specifically, with the overarching objective of achieving steady growth in operating revenue, the Group will: drive product innovation and technological advancement to ensure safety, maintain quality, reduce costs, increase capacity, and enhance profitability; innovate business models, aggressively expand market reach, raise product quality standards, and build a renowned brand; advance management innovation, implement a talent-driven corporate strategy, and develop an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient enterprise; strengthen corporate culture and foster a harmonious workplace; create an innovative development environment, intensify efforts to cultivate a robust pipeline of future leaders, attract top-tier talent, and elevate management capabilities; and innovate financing models, actively promote the construction of new projects, and scale up production and operations.

Chairman Liu Tianwei concluded by emphasizing that the Group’s goals and tasks for the current year have been clearly defined, and the call to grow and strengthen the Group’s brand has been sounded. Moving forward, inspired and energized by the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Third and Fourth Plenary Sessions of the 18th CPC Central Committee, and the Central Economic Work Conference, we will deepen our shared understanding in accordance with the Group’s overall development strategy, set even higher standards for ourselves, and cultivate the ambitious resolve to accomplish great undertakings and build a remarkable career.
