     On December 10, 2015, the deputy director of the Provincial Forestry Department’s Energy Station, accompanied by Deputy Director Sun of the Prefecture Forestry Bureau, Director Su of the Jinghong City Forestry Bureau, and General Manager Liu of the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Liquefied Gas Sales Company, visited Yanuo Village—the pilot village for the liquefied gas-for-firewood substitution project—to conduct a field inspection.

 

 

 

     The sub-station director visited households to gain a detailed understanding from villagers about the installation of equipment for the liquefied petroleum gas–for–firewood substitution project, its energy consumption, and safety measures. Villagers, in turn, explained in detail how using LPG instead of firewood has saved time, labor, and effort, reduced costs, and addressed issues such as uneven withering—ultimately improving tea quality while also transforming rural lifestyles and village environments.

 

 

 

     At the afternoon briefing on the results of the field investigation, the sub-station director put forward the following points: First, detailed requirements were set forth regarding equipment operating procedures and safety training for villagers, to ensure that every aspect of project implementation is conducted with absolute safety. Second, efforts to advance the project must be intensified, government policies benefiting the people must be clearly communicated, and the roles and responsibilities of both the government and enterprises in project implementation must be further refined and strengthened.

 

 

 

     Finally, the deputy director emphasized the significant importance of promoting the project to replace firewood with liquefied petroleum gas. This initiative is of great significance for building an “ecologically oriented prefecture,” advancing the construction of a new socialist countryside and beautiful villages, protecting forest resources and the ecological environment, and fostering social, economic, and ecological benefits. It is a practical, people-centered forestry project that delivers immediate benefits while yielding lasting advantages for future generations.
