“Caring for the next generation—we are taking action.” On the morning of June 1, coinciding with the 69th International Children’s Day, Liu Tianwei and Zhang Yanhong, a couple who are national model workers, moral role models, members of the Standing Committee of the Xishuangbanna Prefectural People’s Congress, chairpersons of the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group, and chairpersons of the Xishuangbanna Tianwei Charity Foundation, visited Tianwei Primary School in Menghai County to celebrate the holiday together with the children and present them with festive gifts and warm wishes. The group company Youth League Committee, Relevant personnel from the office and other departments jointly attended the event.

Mr. Liu Tianwei and Mrs. Zhang Yanhong, on behalf of the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group and the Xishuangbanna Tianwei Charity Foundation, presented the children with festive gifts such as stationery, books, and pastries. In turn, Young Pioneer representatives from Tianwei Primary School draped bright red scarves around their necks. Subsequently, Chairman Liu Tianwei and his delegation, together with teachers and students, enjoyed a variety of cultural performances staged by the pupils.

Chairman Liu Tianwei stated that children are the future of our country and the hope of our nation, and that caring for their growth is a shared responsibility of the entire society. Every year on International Children’s Day, I make time to join in the celebrations with the children, with the aim of encouraging them to take General Secretary Xi Jinping’s new thought as their guiding principle, to cultivate lofty aspirations and noble ideals from an early age, to study diligently, to strive even harder, and to develop themselves in all respects—so that they may grow into pillars of strength needed to realize the Chinese Dream and to contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

From May 29 to May 30, Zhang Yanhong, Secretary of the Party Branch of Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group and Vice Chairperson of the Xishuangbanna Tianwei Charity Foundation, also took part in the pre-festival慰问 activity organized by the Xishuangbanna Prefecture Committee for Caring for the Next Generation, under the theme “Stay True to Our Original Aspiration and Press On with Determination.” On this occasion, she conveyed festive greetings and best wishes to Manhe Jiu Yi School in Menghai County and Mandian Primary School in Jinghong City, enabling these schools’ students to feel the community’s care and concern and inspiring them to study hard and give back to society.
We are presenting students with sports and cultural supplies—badminton rackets—with the hope that they will “stay fit and strengthen their bodies, so that they can study hard and serve our country.”
