Tao Guoxiang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Yunnan Cultural Industry Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd., Zhou Zhenghua, former Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of the Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Liu Tianwei, a National Model Worker, a Model of Morality, and Chairman of the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group, Li Jianwen, the village chief of Lao Ban Zhang Villagers’ Group, along with three others, jointly unveiled the plaque.

Mr. Liu Tianwei, a National Model Worker, a National Moral Model, a member of the Standing Committee of the Xishuangbanna Prefectural People’s Congress, and Chairman of the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group, delivered an important address at the unveiling ceremony. He stated: “The establishment of Menghai Ruigong Lao Banzhang Tourism Investment and Development Co., Ltd. represents a crucial step in the Group’s earnest implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s green development philosophy—‘lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets’—as articulated in his report to the 19th National Congress, as well as in putting into practice the spirit of Governor Ruan Chengfa’s instructions during his inspection tour of Xishuangbanna, which emphasized ‘prioritizing ecology, pursuing green development, and making all-out efforts to build Xishuangbanna into a world-class tourist city.’ This milestone marks the beginning of a new journey for the Group’s comprehensive and diversified development.”

Subsequently, accompanied by Liu Tianwei, Chairman of the Group Company, the attending leaders and guests jointly toured the “Tea King Road” village-loop sightseeing route and the ecological ancient tea garden in Lao Banzhang Village, among other sites.

General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out in the report to the 19th National Congress that we must accelerate institutional reform for ecological civilization and firmly We must foster a strong awareness that “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets” and embrace the concept of green development, so as to build a beautiful China. To earnestly implement the spirit of the General Secretary’s important speech, Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group moved into Laobanzhang Village in October 2017. To date, the Group has invested over RMB 10 million to help local residents construct a scenic circular trail around the village’s ancient tea gardens—the “Tea King Road”—as well as upgrade the village’s infrastructure, including paving internal roads with concrete, improving the drainage system, and building parking facilities. The goal is to better preserve and pass on the Hani people’s time-honored traditional culture, promote the cultural heritage of Laobanzhang Pu’er tea, and effectively protect this invaluable ecological treasure—a pristine expanse of ancient tea gardens—while striving to transform Laobanzhang Village into a national model for ecological civilization and ethnic unity and progress. In doing so, the aim is to enhance the sense of fulfillment and happiness among the increasingly prosperous villagers of Laobanzhang.

Dan Zeng, Vice Chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and former Deputy Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, together with a National Model Worker, a Moral Model, and the Chairman of the Xishuangbanna Shihua Group, officially unveiled the cultural stone inscribed with “Green Mountains and Clear Waters of Lao Banzhang,” personally written by Chairman Liu Tianwei, in the presence of attending leaders, guests, and villagers from Lao Banzhang.

On the day of the unveiling ceremony, the Hani villagers of Lao Banzhang presented a traditional Hani song-and-dance performance—entirely conceived, directed, and performed by themselves—to the attending leaders and guests, jointly celebrating this historic moment.
