Recently, the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group and the Xishuangbanna Tianwei Charity Foundation, which is affiliated with the Group, jointly donated RMB 1 million in charitable funds to the Xiding Township Government of Menghai County to support poverty alleviation efforts. The funds will be centrally managed by the Xiding Township Government and primarily used for purchasing and distributing production and living supplies to impoverished households, providing financial assistance to needy students attending senior high school or higher who are not yet registered as impoverished, offering subsidies to low-income residents, and renovating village health clinics, among other purposes.
According to available information, Xiding Township is one of the six poverty-stricken townships in Xishuangbanna Prefecture. At present, a total of 1,449 registered impoverished households, comprising 5,611 individuals, are living in the township. In recent years, under the guidance of the County Party Committee and the County Government and with the care and support of relevant departments at all levels, Xiding Township has achieved remarkable results in poverty alleviation, with significant improvements in transportation and water conservancy infrastructure, living environments, and housing conditions. Nevertheless, several problems and challenges remain: some impoverished residents have an unbalanced industrial structure, resulting in relatively low incomes and difficult living conditions; village health clinics are poorly equipped; and many village access roads have yet to be fully paved. These issues urgently need to be comprehensively addressed during the final sprint of the poverty eradication campaign. To tackle these challenges, there is a funding gap for poverty-alleviation projects, placing considerable fiscal pressure on local authorities. Upon learning of this situation, Liu Tianwei, Chairman of Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group and Chairman of the Xishuangbanna Tianwei Charity Foundation, on behalf of the Group, donated RMB 1 million in poverty-relief funds to the Xiding Township Government.

According to reports, the charitable donation will be centrally managed by the Xiding Township Government, which will regularly disclose and make public information on how the funds are used, subjecting the expenditure to oversight by the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group, the Tianwei Charity Foundation, impoverished residents, and the broader community. This ensures that every penny is put to good use and that the living conditions of impoverished residents are genuinely improved.
