Some contributed 50 yuan, others 100, some 200… Envelopes filled with heartfelt generosity were sequentially dropped into the donation box.      At the donation event, Zhang Yanhong, Secretary of the Party Branch of Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group, stated that as soon as the news broke that Liao Shouhong had been diagnosed with “low-grade differentiated squamous cell carcinoma of the nasopharynx” (stage II), all employees of the company promptly extended a helping hand, passing on their care and support to one another and building hope, thereby helping her through the most difficult period of her life.

According to reports, Liao Shouhong joined Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. in 1999. During his tenure, he consistently performed his duties with diligence and dedication and was repeatedly recognized by the company as an “Outstanding Employee” of the year. In 2010, due to a reassignment, he transferred to Yuntou Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Co., Ltd. He is currently receiving treatment in Kunming, with daily medical expenses exceeding RMB 3,000 and total treatment costs expected to surpass RMB 300,000.

According to reports, Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group has long placed great emphasis on corporate social responsibility. In 2015 alone, the company allocated more than RMB 20 million for poverty alleviation and charitable assistance, primarily supporting elderly care homes, new rural development, education, visits to and condolences for veteran soldiers of the War of Resistance, impoverished Party members, lonely and destitute seniors, and families of revolutionary martyrs, as well as donations to critically ill patients and impoverished college students. The group also donated liquefied petroleum gas stoves to impoverished rural areas in Daluo Township of Menghai County and in Jino and Dadugang Townships of Jinghong City. Now that a company employee is facing difficulties, Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group has stepped forward without hesitation to offer her assistance. Statistics show that the donation drive raised more than RMB 33,000 in cash.
