Under the joint organization of the Yunnan Provincial Gas Engineering Quality Supervision and Testing Station and the Provincial Department of Housing and Urban–Rural Development, a training course for safety regulators from gas operating enterprises in Yunnan Province was solemnly inaugurated in Kunming from March 17 to 19. More than 180 participants, including representatives from the Provincial Gas Engineering Supervision and Testing Station, the Provincial Department of Housing and Urban–Rural Development, local safety technology officers and practitioners, and heads of gas retail outlets, attended the training.

 

To thoroughly implement the requirements of relevant laws and regulations, including the Yunnan Province Gas Management Measures, the Urban Gas Design Code, and the Yunnan Province Urban Construction Management Regulations, and to further standardize the development of the urban gas industry and the urgent need for energy conservation and emission reduction, it has become increasingly indispensable that gas be recognized as an essential resource for both production and daily life. Therefore, it is imperative to vigorously develop the gas industry, enhance its efficiency, ensure continuous stability and safety, meet the growing demands of the public, and continuously cultivate professionals who possess sound theoretical knowledge in gas management and master their job-specific skills.

 

To effectively ensure the training’s outcomes, the Provincial Gas Engineering Quality Supervision and Testing Station conducted a thorough analysis of the trainees, meticulously designed the curriculum, and provided instruction on such topics as current regulations governing urban gas, management of operating licenses for urban gas supply, safety management in the gas industry, applications of urban gas, technical codes for the safe supply of liquefied petroleum gas in cylinders, emergency response plans, the new Work Safety Law, and case studies drawn from the “Technical Code for the Operation, Maintenance, and Emergency Repair of Urban Gas Facilities.”

 

With the continuous growth of the gas business and the ongoing expansion of the company’s scale, there is a constant need to increase the number of gas operations personnel. To meet this demand, the Yunnan Provincial Gas Association has specially organized this training course.
