On May 30, a research team from the Standing Committee of the Prefectural People’s Congress visited Xishuangbanna Wild Elephant Spring Drinking Water Co., Ltd. to conduct a random inspection as part of the Party’s mass-line education and practice campaign.

Zhang Meilan and Dao Jinfen, Vice Chairpersons of the Standing Committee of the Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture People’s Congress, led a research delegation that conducted on-site inspections of Xishuangbanna Wild Elephant Spring Drinking Water Co., Ltd., including its water storage tanks, drinking water production lines, fully automated bottle-washing and filling lines, and quality-control laboratory. The delegation gained an understanding of the company’s water sources, quality-testing procedures, and production operations, and listened to briefings from the relevant officials.

Based on on-site investigations and inspections, the research team concludes that Xishuangbanna Wild Elephant Spring Drinking Water Co., Ltd., as the largest drinking water producer in our prefecture in terms of both investment and production scale, must rigorously enforce product quality control. This includes implementing end-to-end monitoring of all process steps—such as empty-bottle collection, processing, bottle washing, disinfection, bottling, repackaging, and quality inspection—and conducting independent water-quality testing for every batch to ensure that consumers can drink with confidence. In addition, greater efforts should be made to enhance publicity, so that, while maintaining standardized production, the company can build a distinctive Xishuangbanna brand and expand its market reach.

According to available information, Xishuangbanna Wild Elephant Spring Drinking Water Co., Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group, with an investment of RMB 20 million. The company currently employs 79 people. Its drinking water production base is located in the Wild Elephant Valley within the Xishuangbanna National Nature Reserve. All of its Wild Elephant Spring drinking water is produced on a fully enclosed, automated production line. The product lineup includes natural spring water and purified drinking water, available in both barrel and bottle formats, with a daily output capacity of over 20,000 barrels (or bottles). Sales coverage extends throughout one city and two counties within the prefecture, as well as markets such as Pu’er.
