In September, under the warm autumn sun, Menghai Tianwei Primary School was awash with the festive atmosphere of the new school year. The schoolyard resounded with the lively beats of gongs and drums as the donation ceremony for “Love Backpacks” presented by Liu Tianwei, Chairman of Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd., was about to begin. Little students, each proudly wearing a red scarf, stood in neat rows on the playground, eagerly and patiently awaiting the start of the event. On this occasion, Chairman Liu Tianwei donated RMB 25,000 to purchase 1,000 exquisitely crafted backpacks for more than 500 children at Tianwei Primary School, thereby expressing his heartfelt care and concern for the young students.
Upon receiving their new schoolbags, the children couldn’t wait to put them on, their faces lighting up with innocent, radiant smiles as they vowed to study hard and repay the motherland and society with outstanding academic achievements.
Menghai Tianwei Primary School is located within the Menghai Industrial Park in Manwei Village, Menghai Town, Menghai County. The school offers grades 1 through 6, with a total of 10 classrooms, as well as two preschool classes. It was jointly funded and built by the Menghai County Government and Liu Tianwei, Chairman of the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group. The campus covers an area of 26 mu and currently enrolls 520 students and employs 23 teachers. The student body is primarily drawn from 22 nearby village groups, with the majority being Dai, Hani, and Lahu ethnic minorities.
As a company with a strong sense of social responsibility, Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. is deeply committed to public welfare, donating funds for road construction, educational assistance, poverty alleviation and support for those in need, as well as emergency rescue and disaster relief. Since its establishment, the company has cumulatively invested more than RMB 21 million in public-service initiatives. On this occasion, Chairman Liu Tianwei hopes that by providing educational grants, more children will receive a quality education, broaden their knowledge and develop their talents, step out of their homes, and embrace the wider world. At the same time, the initiative reinforces the company’s positive image as an organization that willingly assumes social responsibility and expresses gratitude to society.
