In 1993, Liu Tianwei, together with his spouse Zhang Yanhong, founded the Xishuangbanna Prefecture Petroleum Liquefied Gas Corporation. Over several decades of development, the company has grown from small to large and from weak to strong, becoming a vital force in enriching the people, revitalizing the prefecture, protecting the ecological environment, and promoting social harmony. Today, the company boasts fixed assets exceeding RMB 2 billion, operates nine subsidiaries, and has expanded its workforce from eight employees at its inception to more than 600 today. Its business scope now encompasses liquefied petroleum gas, gas stations, petroleum imports, piped natural gas, real estate, minerals, rare forest trees, prized trees and flowers, and high-end drinking water from the Wild Elephant Spring, among other ventures. The company has also ranked among the top 100 well-known private enterprises in Yunnan Province, making significant contributions to local economic and social development. It has been repeatedly recognized by Party committees, governments, and relevant departments at the national, provincial, prefectural, and municipal levels as a “National Model Worker Vanguard,” a “National Model Employee Home,” a “Harmonious Enterprise,” an “Advanced Major Taxpayer,” an “Advanced Grassroots Party Organization,” a “Contract-Respecting and Creditworthy Enterprise,” and a “Trustworthy Unit.” Chairman Liu Tianwei, for his part, has successively been awarded titles such as “Outstanding Factory Director (Manager) of Non-State-Owned Enterprises in Yunnan Province,” “Advanced Individual in Ethnic Unity and Progress in Xishuangbanna Prefecture,” “Advanced Individual in the Guangcai Program of Yunnan Province,” “Outstanding Builder of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in Yunnan Province,” “Nineteenth Session of the Yunnan Provincial Model Worker,” and, in April 2015, was honored as a “National Model Worker.”

Liu Tianwei led the company’s management team in sourcing a water supply for the newly commissioned Yexiangquan Drinking Water Plant.
