On October 10, the Report on Outstanding Achievements in Poverty Alleviation and the Commendation Conference for Poverty Eradication were held in Kunming, Yunnan Province. The meeting conveyed the instructions of Chen Hao, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Ruan Chengfa, Governor of the Province. Leaders from the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government—Zhao Jin, Li Xiaosan, Wang Shufen, Gao Feng, He Jinping, and Ding Shaoxiang—attended the meeting.

The conference commended the recipients of the Provincial Poverty Alleviation Award. Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group Awarded the Yunnan Province Poverty Alleviation Award “ Star Poverty-Alleviation Enterprises ” Honorary Title 。

The units and individuals commended this time were selected based on The “Yunnan Province 2017 Poverty Alleviation Award Selection Plan” was carefully organized by the Office of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People’s Government Leading Group for Poverty Alleviation and Development, with recommendations submitted from the grassroots level, rigorous eligibility reviews conducted, voting by the selection committee, and extensive consultation with relevant parties, ultimately resulting in the selection of individuals and organizations to receive the 2017 Yunnan Province Poverty Alleviation Award.

“Targeted poverty alleviation is a vital livelihood project that benefits countless impoverished people, and the implementation of eco-friendly poverty alleviation measures is of great significance to this effort.” In close response to the call from the Prefectural Party Committee and the Prefectural Government, Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group has organized and implemented the “Natural Gas to the City, Liquefied Petroleum Gas to the Countryside” project, which has already benefited one city and two counties across the prefecture, as well as 32 townships and towns. The project has benefited 2,213 natural villages, 125,900 farming households, 1,250 tea enterprises, primary processing facilities, and cooperatives, as well as more than 19,900 tea-farming households. Its implementation has led to the protection of vast tracts of tropical rainforest, helped countless impoverished families escape poverty, transformed the appearance of many villages, and enabled numerous impoverished villages to achieve poverty alleviation and prosperity. When it comes to the importance of eco-friendly poverty alleviation, Liu Tianwei, a National Model Worker and Chairman of the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group, holds a clear and unwavering conviction.

According to the briefing, since the launch of the poverty alleviation campaign, Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group has responded enthusiastically and actively participated in the government’s poverty eradication efforts through a variety of initiatives, including “focusing on ecological civilization to support eco-friendly poverty reduction; donating to education to help impoverished students realize their dreams; concentrating on industry-based poverty alleviation to promote employment-driven poverty reduction; and dedicating itself to public-service-oriented poverty reduction in pursuit of moderate prosperity for all.”
