Recently, Yunnan Province held a celebration and awards ceremony marking International Labor Day on May 1 in Kunming, where Yang Chao, a gas delivery worker at the Jinghong Branch of Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group, was presented with the 2018 Yunnan Provincial May Day Labor Medal.
Wang Jinzheng, Chairman of the Trade Union of Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group, led union committee members to the airport to extend a warm welcome and, on behalf of the group, presented flowers and best wishes.
Brief Introduction to Yang Chao’s Deeds
Yang Chao, a Han Chinese man aged 49, joined the Jinghong Branch of the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group in 1995 as a liquefied petroleum gas delivery worker. Over the past 23 years, he has consistently upheld the safety policy and service philosophy of “Safety First, Customer Supreme, Service Paramount,” approaching his work with unwavering enthusiasm and a selfless dedication. Grounded in his core responsibilities, he has tirelessly worked on the front lines, delivering liquefied petroleum gas to countless households.
After 23 years of unwavering dedication, Yang Chao has earned the trust of a wide range of customers and unanimous praise from company leaders and colleagues through his hard work. For many consecutive years, he has been recognized by the group company with prestigious titles such as “Outstanding Employee,” “Top Gas Delivery Performer,” and “Most Admirable Gas Delivery Worker.” Through his diligent efforts and steadfast commitment to his profession, he has built a happy life for himself and his family. As a result, Yang Chao was awarded the “Yunnan Provincial May Day Labor Medal.”
To carry forward the spirit of model workers and further foster a positive work environment characterized by emulation, learning, striving, and surpassing one another, Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group convened a symposium on May 7 to commend Comrade Yang Chao, recipient of the Yunnan Provincial May Day Labor Medal. The symposium was attended by the group’s leadership, management personnel from various departments and offices as well as branch companies, and representatives of selected employees, and was chaired by Wang Jinzheng, Chairman of the Trade Union.
At the meeting, Comrade Yang Chao delivered an acceptance speech, stating: “This commendation conference was both solemn and enthusiastic. Our achievement is attributable to the fact that we were born in such a great era and to having a platform like the Group Company that provides opportunities for us to hone our skills and showcase our capabilities. We are deeply grateful for the guidance of our company leaders and the support of our colleagues, as well as for the encouragement and understanding of our families. Moving forward, we will take this honor as a new starting point, remain true to our original aspiration, stay committed to our posts, fulfill our duties, and bravely shoulder our responsibilities, so as to continue making contributions to the development of the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group.”
Zhang Yanhong, Secretary of the Party Branch of Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group, delivered a speech on behalf of the group at the meeting. In her important address, she stated: “In this vibrant month of May, when grasses flourish and warblers sing, we have gathered here to hold a symposium honoring Comrade Yang Chao, recipient of the Yunnan Provincial May Day Labor Medal. Comrade Yang’s well-deserved award is the fruit of his many years of hard work and dedication, and it is also a source of pride for the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group. We must vigorously carry forward and widely promote his exemplary work style, professional commitment, and spirit of selfless service. Let us take him as a role model, join forces, and contribute our wisdom and strength to the further development of the Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group. At the same time, we hope that Comrade Yang will cherish this honor, remain humble and steady, and devote his passion and expertise to the Group’s core mission of production and operations. Secretary Zhang Yanhong, on behalf of the Group Company, presented Comrade Yang Chao with a reward of RMB 30,000.
Finally, the participants engaged in a discussion on “How to Study and Put into Practice the Spirit of Model Workers,” during which they extended their congratulations to Comrade Yang Chao on his award and pledged to learn from him.
