Every year 3 month 12 Today is China’s Arbor Day. This year marks the 41st Arbor Day. 。 Arbor Day is a legally designated holiday for promoting tree conservation and mobilizing the public to participate in tree-planting and afforestation activities. 。 Based on the duration, they can be categorized as Tree-Planting Day, Tree-Planting Week, and Tree-Planting Month, collectively known as International Tree-Planting Day.
The Origin of Arbor Day
March 12 is Arbor Day and also the anniversary of the passing of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. China’s Arbor Day was proposed and established by forestry experts such as Han An and Ling Daoyang. Initially, it was set for April 5, the Qingming Festival; in 1928, to commemorate the third anniversary of Sun Yat-sen’s passing, Arbor Day was moved to March 12. February 1979, the Sixth Session of the Standing Committee of the Fifth National People’s Congress Formal On March 12 Certainly Designated as China’s Tree Planting Day 。

The Arbor Day emblem is a symbol that encapsulates the underlying meaning:
1. The tree-shaped design symbolizes the nationwide voluntary planting of three to five trees per person, with everyone pitching in to green our motherland.
2. “China’s Tree-Planting Day” and “March 12” symbolize the determination to transform nature for the benefit of humanity—planting trees year after year with unwavering perseverance.
3. The five trees can be interpreted as symbolizing “the forest,” and this imagery extends outward to connect with the outer ring, conveying the vision of greening the motherland and establishing a virtuous cycle within a natural ecological system centered on forests.
Spring has returned to the land, and grass grows while warblers flit about. On the joyous occasion of the Two Sessions, green development and ecological civilization remain among the most prominent topics of discussion. In his Government Work Report, Premier Li Keqiang outlined the tasks and measures for strengthening ecological conservation and vigorously promoting green development, with the shared goal of building a beautiful and livable China.
