Wild Elephant Spring Water Plant Prepares Food for Wild Elephants

At 9:00 p.m. on May 24, a herd of about 15 wild elephants visited the raw water reservoir at the Wild Elephant Spring Water Plant. The plant’s staff were delighted to see the elephants and chose not to drive them away; instead, they quietly observed the animals’ activities for roughly 30 minutes. As the elephants failed to find any food, they gradually moved on.

Upon learning of the situation, the plant’s leadership called on all waterworks employees to make full use of the idle land along the edge opposite the irrigation ditch by sowing corn. Taking the lead themselves, and under the specific guidance of Comrade Li Xianlin of the waterworks, they meticulously carried out weeding, deep plowing, and seeding, covering a total area of more than six mu. Shortly after sowing, a heavy rain fell, boding well for the seeds’ germination and growth.

The water plant has assigned specific responsibilities for the management of this cornfield and is ensuring meticulous oversight. Outstanding individuals in this effort will be rewarded. We are preparing this space specifically for the wild elephants, welcoming them to visit our Wild Elephant Spring Water Plant often—this grain is specially prepared for them.
