“Hearing it told is not as good as seeing it for oneself; hearing it described is not as good as witnessing it with your own eyes.” Recently, more than 20 Party members from the Party branch of Xishuangbanna Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd., together with mid-level managers of the company, visited the Jinghong City Detention Center to undergo cautionary education, gaining a firsthand understanding of what life is like behind “high walls.”

“What befell those who came before serves as a lesson for those who follow.” After depositing their mobile phones and other communication devices, the participants entered the detention facility. Led by the leadership of the detention center, they toured the facility’s infrastructure and observed the daily lives and educational activities of the detainees. The towering walls, iron gates, barred windows, box-like cells, and the complete absence of freedom—such stark realities were profoundly shocking and evoked deep reflection.
